On March 3 the exhibition of abstract photos by Gabriel Panossian took place in Yerevan History Museum, which was organized by RA Ministry of Diaspora and Yerevan Municipality.

RA minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan, ambassador of Lebanon to Armenia Jean Makaron, professor of Yerevan State Academy of Fine Arts, painter and designer, founder and head of “Kalents” cultural foundation Saro Kalents, Honoured Art Worker Shahen Khachatryan, art critic Marina Stepanyan and others were among the presents.

In her opening speech, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan mentioned that Gabriel Panossian came to Armenia and settled here through “Ari Tun” program. “During these years he managed to bring the spirit of Lebanon to Armenia. He photographs what he notices in Armenia and what happens in Armenia ” ,-added H. Hakobyan.

Honoured Art Worker Shahen Khachatryan mentioned that he had got acquainted with Panossian’s photos in Beirut. According to him Gabriel represents our nation on a new level with the help of his art.

Professor of Yerevan State Academy of Fine Arts, painter Saro Kalnets noticed that Panossian’s photos were not abstract, they were futuristic. In these photos he noticed the idea of movement.

Then ambassador of Lebanon to Armenia Jean Makaron added “I am happy to participate in this exhibition. Gabriel Panossian is an artist, who can show the creative thinking of Lebanese-Armenians. I think his works are an imagination. In his photos I see God, Armenia, Lebanon and the humanity”.

The exhibition was interactive. The photos had no names. The guests had an opportunity to name the photos. Afterwards,  these names will be written on the photos.

The photographer expressed his gratitude to the presents for the support. “This is the first event that I organize for myself, I have always organized such events for the others. I want to  say that Lebanon is my homeland, but I am  sorry that I wasn’t born in Armenia”, added the photographer.
