For making the cultural life of California more active through painting and art, two American organizations; Western USA Regional department of Hamazkayini Armenian Cultural and Educational Society and “Asparez” daily in association with “Hovik՛s Fine Art” gallery organized exhibition and sale on November 14-16.
“The aim of the exhibition is to promote particularly this aspect of culture by presenting and supporting the modern artists. At the same time we want to create a material base through sale so as to make this process continuous”, -noted the co-organizer of the exhibition, well-known artist, the founder of “Hovik՛s Fine Art” gallery Hovik Kochinyan. Our compatriot whose works are well known in American and international auctions, for more than twenty years in parallel with his private activities reveals the Armenian artists and supports them.
This is the main aim of Western USA Region Department of Hamazkayini Armenian Cultural and Educational Society.
The member of the exhibition organizing council, art admirer Adur Aghjayan noted that the Armenian artists would be able to make their own significant contribution to global culture.
Lectures, artists’ presenting programs, the foundation of the drawing center are planned during the exhibition. The exhibition is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. The works presented include the works of classics, such as: Minas Avetisyan, Hakob hakobyan, Jansem, as well as of modern painters like Hovik Kochinyan who is the grandson of the survivor of the Genocide.
The opening ceremony of the exhibition will take place in the center of Regional Department on November 14 and will last until November 16.
